40 and Fabulous
…because every version of you deserves to be celebrated.
This client came to me as a return boudoir client, having her second session and to celebrate her 40th birthday. Never heard of Birthday Boudoir? This is a perfect example of just a few ways you can celebrate a milestone (or any) birthday with a fun and celebratory boudoir shoot at Simply-Boudoir in Kernersville, North Carolina!
I actually met with her at the studio a couple of weeks before her shoot because what you don’t see is the nervousness and questions she had for herself leading up to this shoot. Her first session was 2 years ago at our Kernersville boudoir studio and was more fitness inspired. Being a mother of 4 with a demanding career and wife, she found her passion in fitness. This time around, she was celebrating a body that was a little less toned that she was learning to love just the same. You see, boudoir isn’t all about waiting until you reach a certain goal or number on the scale. Sometimes, it’s about celebrating the here and now and learning that each version of yourself deserves just as much love and admiration.
She actually had a few large prints made from her first shoot and they adorn the walls of her she-shed, which I absolutely love! When she booked this time around, she commented that this version of herself deserves a spot on the wall as well, and you know what? Hell yes it does!
She is so much more than her body but we can all admit as women, sometimes it’s hard to look past that. She struggled as she shopped for lingerie this time, saying she kept comparing herself to the last shoot. She ended up nailing the looks though - with a stunning yellow set from our local Selena’s Fine Lingerie Boutique in Greensboro (Selena herself is amazing at helping ladies find the most flattering and beautiful pieces for their shoot), and a stunning floral set from gasp Amazon (you can find that here) as well as a stunning pearl ensemble that I have as part of my boudoir studio wardrobe that clients are more than welcome to wear at no cost to you!
We ended the shoot with a fun and fabulous champaign pour with the most perfect bottle she found - Black Girl Magic. All around, I say this celebratory boudoir session was a total hit and I can’t wait to see which images she selects to join her other boudoir portraits on her wall!
