Hellfire and holy water
“She is both hellfire and holy water and the flavor you taste depends on how you treat her.” This is the exact quote I think of when I think about this gorgeous woman. I have known her for around 6 years now and you may recognize her from a few shoots before. Her first shoot was more natural and bohemian, we then went a bit darker when I added a black wall and chain in my old studio.
*HOLD UP* Can I just take a minute to remanence over my old studio, where I came from and all of the fun we had there? Holy cow…it’s hard to believe sometimes where this business has taken me. That was the first studio I ever had and it became mine after I started shooting boudoir full time in 2012. Whew, I didn’t intend to be stopped in my tracks and cry a little this Monday morning but the rollercoaster that is owning your own business is REAL, y’all!**
Ahem, so from there I was honored to do maternity boudoir photos for her (that’s right, she’s a badass mama!) and this time around she won a contest in my boudoir group on Facebook.
Also a side note, my personal FB and business group are now gone. I decided a few months back to get off Facebook personally and make deeper connections, not just those at the tips of my fingertips. I’ve received a few texts and emails from past clients checking in, which means the world to me. Thank you all for the concern but I am super duper okay…and even better without FB in my life!
So, back to this beauty. She has had this mysterious yet contagiously kind energy about her since I first met her. Her smile lights up the room and when she talks you know she’s no BS. Talk about my kind of friend! We actually instantly became friends and she’s one of the most amazing women I know. Being a military wife and new mom hasn’t been easy but she strives to be REAL…she’s an entrepreneur and amazing wife and mother.
When she won the contest in my group it was a rather big deal. This was her first shoot after having her beautiful baby boy 3 years ago and she has been candid about her struggles with getting her body back to being HERS and learning to love what it has looked like in all stages. She said she was even more nervous about this shoot then any of the others but of course she rocked it like no other. I loved the ideas of showing both sides of her personality and we had a lot of fun shooting outside at the end. Hellfire and Holy Water…I think she covers it pretty well.
Here’s what she had to say when she saw her images.
“I LOVE them so much!!!! Seriously. You’re amazing. Thank you for making me feel beautiful and sexy still. It was so nice to feel that way and to be able to see those pictures, I feel more like myself than I have in 2 years! Thank you for helping me reconnect with myself, in a way I haven’t been able to since becoming a mom. You’re the absolute sweetest person in the world and one of the most talented that I know. I feel so blessed to have had this opportunity with you, but also being able to call you a friend.”
